Espresso:
Maybe you and other "motor heads" (I use the term in the positive sense) know all that stuff about all those cars, but the average person does not!!

If you read my second post, you'll see "the point" of this thread is that "I was looking for a concise list that would surprise people when talking about the PT. You know, like when you're trying to impress someone when you pull up alongside a Ferrari and say "I could be him" ". If you don't like the point of this thread, then feel free to ignore it, no offense will be taken.

99.9% of the worlds population would be surprised to know that the PT could beat ANY Ferrari, Porsche, or Mustang Cobra in 0-60.

Perhaps you just wanted to show us how knowledgeable you are about these other cars, and that's fine. This thread may not really be geared towards the "motor heads" of the group. It's just some fun information for the rest of us.

And of course most of those cars can beat the PT in the twisties, I didn't say anything to the contrary. And yes, I know the Ferrari 308 GTB/Si Quattrovalvole will beat the PT GT in the 1/4 mile... That's not the point I'm making.

BTW, what's an OBDI?

I wasn't trying to be smart at all, sorry if I came off like that. It's just most hreads like this are because they think the PT is the Almighty( like on SRT4 forums, NOTHING can beat the SRT4). It just sounded like it. I like real world stats. 0-60 means good stop light performance, but when you both have to stop again at the next light it is kinda a moot point. I think the 45-70MPH merge speeds should be compared & they need to do away with the 0-60 standard.

As for OBDI. That is the computer control system that is in the cars. OBDI, OBDII, OBDII, EEC-IV, EEC-V, ect,ect

OBD is On Board Diagnostic
EEC is "Fords version" & stands for Electronic Engine Control.

The original OBD back in the early 80's are HORRIBLE engine controls.

Robinjoe,

I understand your point. It is like the pimply-faced, pencil-neck geek standing in the showers at the school gym and catching a glimpse of the school's starting quarterback's manhood. He might enjoy knowing that his manhood is larger but it doesn't really help him in any practical sense.

Mmmm, the Ferrari 308. The poor man's Ferrari. I had the ability to purchase that car when I bought the PTGT instead. I have vowed that I will own a Ferrari before I die, and I am currently holding out for my favorite, the F40.

About the XJS, I have fond memories of that too. My father had one (1988) and while the PT may be quicker off the go, the XJS kept on pulling no matter what speed you were at. A V12 is nice like that. He pegged the spedo going somewhere in the neighborhood of 155 (I was scared like a little girl, and would never consider going that fast unless I was on rails).
