I just got finished cleaning my air box/K&N filter checking oil and fluids and what not and picked up my friend and headed off to the gym. On my way there I’m stopped at a light and up next to me comes a Acura TL 2004 so the light changes and like every time I’m next to a car with more pony’s I give it a bit more then a normal take off but by no means WOT. So we are going and I can hear him start pushing it so i lay in it a bit more and then it was on... but the next light ahead just turned red so me and my friend looked at each other and knew it was about to be ON! So the light changes and we both take off I throw it in Syncro and start flooring it to make a long story short had him 1 car length the whole time and at about 3 blocks later and 100MPH he gave up... to bad so sad...[8)]

Yes, his car has 40 more HP...Stock for stock. BUT yours is modified.
The TL with a 6 speed STOCK can pull a 5.9 0-60 ft & the auto can pull a 6.3 & both are mid 14's in the 1/4.
So you MUST have been pushing it. To knock a full 1 sec off you 0-60 is an accomplishment. With just a few simple bolt on's.

i dont like to put money in the equation when i race people, because...

i have friends that have a total of 4-5K total investment in their cars and they run 10's.

TL's are pretty strong cars, i think they have a 5 cyl vtec ( could be way off)

but dont listen to these people who bash racing. it wasnt like you were doing it down busy neighborhood streets. you were just having a little fun
i think this guy was thinking more of the F&F style of fake racing. or the kind of racing people do in Philly ( 200 people standing around as people get a run off)

a stoplight race isnt that dangerous at all. it would have been if you have a 9 sec RWD car, but in a straitaway in yout 14 sec FWD car, you dont have to worry THAT much.
