I ready for new brakes on my GT and need to know the verdicts on what ceramic pads will fit.
I believe the fronts require that you use the existing shim, as it is bigger than the n/a setup, so any manufacturers pads should fit. Correct me if I am wrong in this. The rears have a smaller backing plate than the n/a cruiser so has anybody replaced these pads with aftermarket pads? All of you that have upgraded let me know brand and part numbers that have worked. thanks |

Search the different manufacturers for Dodge SRT-4 brakes. They are identical. I used Hawk HPS Pads for my 04 GT, here are the numbers:
Front: HB377F.760 Rear: HB176F.614 About $120 for both sets, depending on vendor. I also bought drilled/slotted Brembo rotors for all 4 wheels on Ebay. These were also listed for a Dodge SRT-4. All parts fit and work perfect! |

The Hawk HPS pads I mentioned in my previous post are much better with dusting than the stockers were. Not quite ceramic level, but very low dust.

All the ceramic pad brands great reviews. I use the raybestos (pep boys) ceramics and love em'. I'm sure the Hawk ceramics are just as good. The slotted/drilled rotor are even a step further and then add the stainless brake lines to complete the upgrade. You could also look into a complete front upgrade from stop tech or Wildwood, both are very expensive, but get excelent reviews from my readings.

December 22 my mechanic installed ceramic pads on the rear of my '03 GT. I didn't think to ask him for the brand or part number, I should have. Now I've got a squeak when I brake. Do you think that will go away by itself?

Pep Boys Raybestos ceramics. $80.00 and they last about 65,000 miles in heavy traffic driving. No dust and no squeals. I have 109,000 miles on my 2003 GT and love them. I even tow a trailer from time to time.
