How do they do a 4 wheel alignment when the rear is a solid axle? The dealer did only a front end alignment when I had Eibach springs installed.
Mean Green,

Just had mine done at the dealer a couple months back. I wasn't allowed in the alignment bay to see for myself but the mechanic told me that the PT can use a 4 wheels alignment. If the back is out of spec, shims are needed for correction. Was he pulling my leg to get extra bucks? [:I]
I'm not sure. When I had the alignment done on my '03 at a tire store I was charged for a 4 wheel alignment. When I had an alignment done for the '03 at the dealer they did a front end alignment.

My dealer does offer both front and 4 wheel alignments. The shop I worked at only did 4 wheel alignments and if only a front wheel alignment was needed you still got a charge for the 4 wheel.

Ye sthe rear can be aligned. It is a Major PITA. the shims are cut & stuck between the axle & wheel hub. There is a cahrt to tell you where to cut & rotate the shim. They basicly take as good a guess as possible & then put the whole thing together to check it.

If they miss, they have to take it apart & do over. Cost me some $$$ to have it done last month. was not covered from the accident. I'm, gonna fight that with the lawyers.

Anyway, it's now done & perfect!
