qsd, yes those are automatics. Got them off the window stickers. Kinda odd though that the turbo lite and gt turbo were the same[:I]

My average in stop and go, which is my normal driving, is around 17 mpg. I know you travel somewhat to work, could that be why yours is alittle higher?

My commute is 50 miles each way. I go in VERY early (leave house before 04:30) so NO TRAFFIC. It's all backroads with very few lights and few stopsigns, speed limits of 50, 45, 40 for most of it.
Aside from deer, I share the road with people delivering newpapers..

QSD, if you're driving those speeds for the length of time you are then it's no wonder you're getting the mileage you are. I can get 24mpg on a tank if I can stick to the freeways for that tank - but that's at 80mph.

These cars only get really terrible in town....mostly because none of us can keep our foot out of it between lights!!!

The 2.4L Turbo engines should all be the same. If you have the "Turbo Lite" with 180hp all you need is Stage 1 to bump it up to the GT range. I think the 04 models already have the larger injectors. Anyone want to jump in here and confirm that. [:I]
Hey there Crewzin, I thought the Turbolite was the same as the regular 2.4 and the HO 2.4 had a beefed up enterior such as stouter crank and diferent sized valves etc.? Just my $.02[:I]

Nope. All turbo engines are the same, just differ in computer programming.
The turbo engines have stronger connecting rods, oil spray to bottom of pistons,...
Both turbos also use 41te autos, N/A autos are now 40te (2 fewer clutch packs).

having just bought a additional PT for the wife...I was interested to see how the gas mileage would be...
05 GT/automatic best in town 21 highway 30(with the wife driving
cruise set at 76. my best is 25
with cruise set at 85)

03 Base model/5speed had it less than a week, in town has been 26

it's like driving 2 different cars, models, manufacturers. If it wasn't for the dash layout, I'd swear I was in a another brand vehicle.
