Default new guy

Just traded in my 01 ACR Neon for an 03 GT tonight. I went out with the intention of buying an srt-4 but came across a low mile GT. I was hooked after the test drive. My first mod will probably be a traction control default off box like I made for my ACR. Then i'll go for stage 1.

Don't mind me... Im like a kid with a new toy.

If anyone else has suggestions for picking up the performance a bit, i'm all ears.

Im glad you mentioned that. I found a post about the plastic mani. When I checked the link for the vendor they offered some sort of vanity cover for $30 extra. What is it? I want the underhood area to look nice and not incomplete. Anyone have a pic of it?

Thanks

The vanity cover is just that, a plastic piece to hide the exoskeleton appearance of the plastic intake. You need to decide what's more important to you - show or go.

Of course, you can always paint it body color like I did and remove it for track days. Options are good!

Most people using the new plastic intake are not using the vanity cover. The few who are using the vanity cover have removed the foam to help prevent the intake from heating up.

Welcome.
How would that differ from the TRAC switch turned to off?

The trac button is a momentary switch. You have to press it to turn it off. Seems easy enough to do, but its easy to forget. I made a simple circuit so the trac is off by default instead of on. My Neon spun real easy and tripped the tc. I was making a left one day and a misjudged a cars speed that I turned in front of. When I got on the gas the tires spun and the TC started pulsing the ABS. It scared me to think that I might not be able to avoid an accident because the car was fighting me for control.

Plus I have ruined a few runs at the track when I forgot to hit the button.

Saw your thread on the "other" PT Forum, so I get what you want to do.
