My PT is really starting to annoy me. First the PCM glitch that caused the engine to overheat, then the ridiculously overpriced front rotor replacement, then the weird misfire issue that took 3 trips to the dealer to diagnose, and now this... This morning in stop-an-go traffic, my ABS momentarily kicked on for no apparent reason and then the ABS and TRAC OFF lights lit up on my dash and have stayed on since. Once I got to a safe location I tested both the ABS and the Traction Control and neither is functioning. The brakes still work fine, I just don't have ABS/TC anymore. I checked the fuse under the dash, hoping that it was something as simple as a blown fuse, but it was fine. Any thoughts as to what might be the problem? [xx(]

Well... same senario for me. We finally got some clear weather and everything is back to normal. I hope this isn't going to be a problem everytime it rains. That would sort of defeat the whole purpose of having traction control/abs if it doesn't work when the roads are slick. lol

I had the same problem a couple of months ago and it turned out to be a problem with a speed sensor by the front passenger tire.
Dealer replaced it under warranty and that fixed the problem. |

Blue streak,
i too have the weird misfire thing, especially at idle, what did your dealer diagnose it as, cause ive been there twice and theyve done nothing to fix it so far. If its the same hopefully if i tell them what yours was doing they could finally fix mine.... Mike |
