just to clear any mis-interpretations, there's no way we could ever hope to test an RX-7 or any other such a car...we drive TANKS ( ie. heavy as hell). Just as an example my friend absolutely blew me away with his Dodge stealth R/T AWD!!

I own 2 supras, the twin turbo and the older single turbo modle. They both perform like champs with straight through mufflers. YOu dont want any chambered exuast on your GT cruiser!
As fot teh SRT-4, we are putting down 215-230 to the wheels stock. OUr front mount is larger but I dont think that makes a big difference in dyno numbers. You need some strong front air running into the FMIC to make a difference. If you put a GT FMIC on the SRT, i dont think youwill see a difference in the dyno. Now what makes a difference is the design of the intake manifold. The SRT manifod tappered down which gives you good velocity going into the head.

any further updates on the exact ECU differences between the 2 setups?
it just gets me wondering about the upgrade path down the road, that's all.

i would not be concerned at all. A no muffler system is far better for turbo cars than one with a muffler...if you don't believe me just go to any supra or rx-7 board and check out what they are saying. These cars are turbo and will smoke a pt any day of the week whether we like it or not.
As for performance gains, i would imagine that a good exhaust will yield decent hp and ft/lb gains, but i won't estimate gains, i'll wait for the dyno sheets. What i can tell you is that turbo cars w/ a good full exhaust on average will gain between 15 and up to 30 hp at the wheels. Keep in mind that a 30hp gain is usually seen on twin setups...there's no way we've gained that much. Having a good setup is a key building block to future high performance gains |

Exhaust Depot,
What kind of dyno are you using? Thoes # seem a little high, or the dyno I was using was a little on the conservitive side. J ust wondering. I was on a Mustang 4wd rolling. |

I have a friend that has a twin turbo RX7 with just bolt ons and he puts down 348 HP to the wheels. The car will press you into the seat at any spee, in any gear, when the gas petal is pushed down. We are no match for that kind of power.
