Default Plastic Manifold in Summer?

How are those plastic intake manifolds doing in summer driving? Are they a noticable difference from the aluminum manifold? Is everyone happy with their choice or are there a few regrets. I haven't seen the oil dip stick bracket listed for the new plastic manifolds. Before I go to install I want everything ready with no surprises.Any one see any cracks on their manifold or was that just the factory installation?

mine just arrived in the box from Tommy.
so i can't give you any feed back yet.

i would be more worried about hitting large pot holes
in freezing weather. and cracking the thing.

It's all good [8)]
This is one of the few mods that has no downside, and after a couple of thousand miles since the swap would hate to go back to the original aluminum intake (2 words: fugget aboudit
The car runs a bit smoother, pulls harder (especially from 4000 rpm and up) and we've noticed a 2 mpg increase in fuel economy since I installed it. And that is in spite of the increased temptation to plant the loud pedal

Mine came with composite (plastic) intake. What cracks are you talking about? [:I]
I replaced plugs & wires, and everything looked fine (took modesty cover off).

There were some earlier postings concerning cracks around the mounting flange from what I remember. At that time it sounded more like the bolts weren't torqued in order and gradually tightened. I never heard how many, but it seemed to be isolated to factory installation. With o-rings you have to snug the bolts evenly, not just start at one side and tighten. Has any one else had a problem or noticed cracking around the upper/lower manifold flanges? Did you make a dip stick bracket or buy one? Take care and be safe.
