I searched around at a couple of the other forums for your P0700. Loads of information ....mostly all bad. There is a problem with a solinoid pack that could be causing your code, but for the most part the tranny had to be replaced. Some were still under warranty and it was covered. Some went with a new "beefed up" auto tranny that's available for the PT if they had to cover it out of their own pocket. No sence putting in another "weak link tranny" if your gonna pay for a new one anyway.

I hope my $100 deductible will cover this, otherwise it is as cheap as possible. Why? You wont beleive were I was going when the idiot light came on! Going to the dealer to see about an 07!!! Also, it was scheduled to have a fluid flush at 60,000 miles as I went 30,000 B4 the first tranny flush. Oh well will let all of you know Monday!

I stand corrected (Thanks rszappa1). The Power Demon Tranny is no longer available, but there may be another "beefed up" tranny available soon.

I had the same code, but also went into limp in mode and had to disconnect the battery (reset pcm) to get home. The dealer replaced the clutches and torque converter as well as some solenoids. Since the repair I am very careful with the tranny and don't trust it! Mine went out at 30K and now I have 45K on the car. There is no use in spending money to increase horse power with the autostick.

Anybody that Soups up a PT with a Automatic is just asking for trouble...for that matter and chrysler product...the trannys are weak and have been since the introduction of Ultra Drive in 1989...

UPDATE: Dealer replaced transmission 41TE solenoid pack 332 W4SC. Total cost to me was the $100 deuctible. For some reason 17 miles was put on the car. Maybe a parts run?? Car runs like new now! [8)]

Congrats. I'll bet that's a load off of your mind. [?]

17 miles on a GT? That's more than a test driver. [:I]
