rear noise from gas filler tube

I recently have been hearing a sound from the rear of my 03 gt and when i went to fill it with gas yesterday i found the source. The gas filler tube has what chrysler calls the filler tube housing. it appears to be a plastic piece that the filler tube attaches to and it attaches to the body of the car.

the housing is nearly totally broken and the filler tube is about to fall.

has anyone experienced this problem? Would it be a warranty issue? the part costs about $6.00. Has there been any recall or tsb on this?

when did you buy the 03 ?? that will tell you if its covered i would take it back to the dealership right away
