Default Slip and a clunk

I've been reading some of the forums and I have a problem that I believe can be answered here. I have an 03 GT w/ an autostick and unless I start off extremely smooth and steady there is a slip and a clunk. It is VERY apparent when I'm in bumper to bumper traffic. I was unaware of the probs with the autostick until I started reading theses forums. I'm hoping that its only a motor mount, (since I understand that they are a evidently normal problem. I've also been reading about solenoids etc. I bought it used w/ 11K miles it now has approx 37K miles. I do not remember reading that it should have a tranny flush as of now, so I have not. I do not drive it hard. What do you think?

does the slip and clunk happen when you start from 2nd gear? I've noticed that during bumper to bumper traffic that the PT auto is rough on acceleration. I would engage the auto stick and leave it in 2nd and the car would stop and go smoother. Can't give you any transmission diagnostic, but just be easy on the acceleration until you can get someone to look at it.

Recommend tranny service every 30k with the auto tranny. It can be a weak link.

Thanks ... I still have warranty left, so I'll probably take it to Chrysler. I'm going to take your advice and have the tranny serviced as well. It is too bad that the tranny is a weak link. since its an autostick.

Can a manual Getrag transmission be bolted on where the auto transmission was?

I think so, It may cost a bit for wiring the clutch, installation, and reprogramming the ECU. In all honesty, just get the auto fixed, It will be a lot cheaper.
