Yea, they really blew it not extending the range of the cruiser with so many options available it could have been a long life. Good luck with yours.

Update PT Cruiser related item - Turbo Bog -backfire - misfire - engine power loss, etc.

This really bad bog has been getting worse since last April. The dealer basically could not read ay code so therefore was clueless and acknowledged it was there and they could not diagnose it. It was so loud that it sounded like a shotgun and scared the $hit out of my wife. It happened in every range and truly robbed the performance of the great engine.

So once it died the dealer had to replace the cam sensor (cam position sensor) and the crank sensor.

Now it does seem to drive much better without any turbo bog or backfires today. I hope that helps anyone else with the same issue. My car threw a P0340 code.

Ok the good news is that the bog is pretty much gone down low and the bad news is that is still there at moderate to heavy throttle. This sucks!

I am thinking about going back to have the sparks plugs changed and see if gapping them at .40 works???

A buddy has suggested to get the car dyno mapped to see if they can pinpoint the issue.
