Been gone for a while, thought I'd respond to the miles question.
'01 TE 43K nothing other than oil/filter, ceramic pads, plugs/wires going on now. Still has original battery (built in March of 2000). '03 Dream just turned 27K, just Mobile 1 /filter changes. Both are modified exstensively, Clearly, the least troublesome cars I have ever owned. Won't buy another one though because I have NO confidence in Chrysler's designers or motives. Mt PT's stay out of dealers. PT4U2C/1KICKNPT

25,000 miles on my 2004 Turbo Lite (automatic, of course). I installed Stage 1 with 2000 miles on the clock and have made close to 50 passes at the drag strip. I've also lowered the car 1.5" front/2.0" rear, added firmer shocks and a rear roll bar, all at around 3500 miles. Swapped out the exhaust with a BTG cat back dual setup with maybe 1500 miles on it. I've also had the car on a road course during a NASAProRacing HPDE track day and pushed it hard. Damn hard. But I change the oil & filter every 3000 miles with Mobil 1 5W30.
Failures to date: /End list of failed parts. Yes, that means "nothing has broken". Well, OK, my windshield did lose its life to a ballistic rock, but it's sort of hard to fault the car for that. And I do have this nasty recurring issue where I have to stop every so often to put more gas in the darn thing. My previous DCX product, a 2000 Dodge Stratus ES V6 was just as lousy overall. But it also burned out a foglight bulb in the 50,000 miles I owned it, so I guess that car was just worthless. Damn these crappy DCX products!!! |

We've got an '04 with the automatic; 33,000 miles.
Toasted a battery rear wheel bearings replaced front wheel bearings replaced lower arm controls replaced ECM flashed plugs and wires replaced (all taken care of under warranty) replaced front pads; lots of pad material left but there was evidence of "break-up" of the lining!

Almost forgot:
The '03 has 65K on it. I have had a sunvisor and battery replaced under warranty and had the ECM reprogrammed due to the overheating TSB. Other than that it is still going strong. The original plugs and wires are still in good condition. I change oil about every 3500 miles and use Napa Gold filters when I remember to ask for it. The other day I did have a brake problem. My front caliper must have frozen because only my right front outer pad was worn. All other front pads were at 35%. Unfortunately, the wear indicators are on the inner pads so I didn't notice the problem till I had metal on metal. Luckily, the rotors were salvageable. My only other complaint aside from the oil light problem in the post above is that one of the headlights is developing haze.

'03 PT Turbo - Autostick - originally purchased new in 1-03 ... I bought it used in 4-04 with 11,000 miles on it. Now has 43,320 miles - replaced front disc pads with semi-metalics at 32,000 miles ... 4 new Kumho ECSTA ASA's at 36,000 miles ... replaced 2 motor mounts, and serviced tranny at 37,000 ... just had a A/C line replaced under warranty at 43,015 miles. other than that change oil every 3,000 miles with 10-30w, replaced air filter every 15,000 miles ... No other problems.
