In '03, there was only 1 turbo, the GT.
for '04, they offered the "lite" as well as the GT - BOTH got bigger injectors than the '03 GT had, and these injectors are on all turbos since. If you buy stage 1 for an '03, it'll have bigger injectors - no other year Stage 1 kit will need injectors.
having the gt as the only turbo model available in '03 - is understood. however, i still don't get the difference between the '04 gt and the lite versions. is "lite" short for the limited model? if they shared the same turbo and injector size, why call one a turbo lite?[:0][:0][:0]

No, though the lite uses the same turbo, it's held in check (lower boost) by ECU programming to produce 180hp rather than GT output - thus the "Lite" moniker. Installing the stage 1 module on either version leads to the same enhanced output.

Kinda strange when you think on it - it's no cheaper for Chrysler to produce the lite version - guess the substantial difference in power output is a carrot for the salesman to dangle when encouraging a buyer to spring for the GT vice the Ltd.

But then there's the stage 1 equalizer for less than $500...[8)]

I think DC felt that they could put the lite motor into a cheaper model and people could get more HP for less money than in a GT. The bonus was also the lite uses regualr gas.

It was in part the regular gas that made me decide on the Turbo Lite version rather than the GT. I also know I can always go Stage1 if I want the extra power (and premium gas). We also wanted the softer ride the limited offers and didn't care one way or the other about the upgraded brakes on the GT. This is the car I share with my husband. He really wanted a comfortable car. My other car (that I don't share with him) is much more performance oriented. If it were just me I'd probably do silly things to the Cruiser. For the pure fun of driving I'll choose my other car every time. For comfort with good passing power the PT is a really fine ride. Plus it holds plenty of packages and groceries! I just have to stop myself from adding things - like 18" wheels - to make it uncomfortable!
