2006 GT - Turning radius roughly same as my '96 Ford Extra Cab pickup truck. I use the same technique when maneuvering either - think about where you want the REAR axle to end up, not the front!

PT Noir, our other car is a Mini Cooper S as well. My husband takes great pleasure in teasing me about my GT. I have to take more than one turn into a parking spot. I almost always have to back up to correct because of course my little red bus didn't quite make it in the first time. And he can whip the Mini into the tightest spots in one shot. He makes me sick. (With the biggest stupid smile on his face)

Make him ride in the so-called back seat of the Mini until he promises to stop being so smug.

The turning radius on the lite turbo (wife's car) is a little better than on my GT. I was told this was so because the rotors were smaller. That makes sense. My daughter has a '98 Neon (from which the PT is based, I believe) and that has the best turning radius of all. Of course it has the smallest tires and brakes too.

The turning radius is worse on the GT because the GT uses 17" wheels.

It doesn't matter to me in the end. I'd rather drive my GT any day. Don't get me wrong I love our Mini. But it's a Supercharged Gokart and can rattle your bones on a bad road, and that can be fun (sometimes). Big turning radius, I can deal with. Love my GT.

you guys are right, Chrysler could have done better....they just never asked our opinion. However, I did have a car worse than this, had a 93 Chevy Z34 Lumna and it took 4.5 manuvers to make a 3 point turn on a 2 lane road!

My first car was an 87 Lebaron turbo. That thing didnt turn worth a crap either. Im willing to bet the neon and cruiser are built on a similar platform as the lebaron used to be built on.

thanks

SAME YEAR, SAME MODEL, SAME PROBLEM. Turning radius is horrific! But, I still love my Shugga' Plum.

You'll get used to it....

Yep, read about that in Car and Driver, when I was trying to make my decision between: Scion TC, Mini, VW Bug and the PT GT....of course, you see what I've chosen!

None of the others compared (power for buck)....
