You are all going to think I'm crazy because what I'm going to tell you has nothing to do with the steering but I found out just by chance that if you turn your tracking switch off it will have a tighter turn. All I can say is try it, I don't know why it works but for me it does. The tracking is suposed to appy the brakes if you start to loose traction but for some reason when I turn mine off it gives me about 3 or 4 feet tighter turns.

My cruiser has a turning radius of a Grey Hound Bus. It has 235 60 15 tires so its not the big rims doing it. My 2007 Impala needs two lanes to do a U-turn my PT needs three city blocks.

I'm a cdl driver and have driven 18 wheelers for years. I always thought my 2006 PT turned on a dime till I read this thread. Now you all got me educated and I'm going to worry about whether I can make the turn or not.

LOL, my dads Freightliner XL Classic wont turn worth a damn either. Takes 3 lanes to turn around.

Cool Re: turning radius?

But...to add to what I've already posted...the NA Touring isn't all that bad. I can turn around in two lanes+. Besides...U-Turns are illegal in most places anyway!

This is my second PT. I know what you are saying about the turning radius issue, but I got used to it. What I do like mostly about the GT is how the turbo pulls you thru traffic and helps maneuver the car. The car is what it is, but mostly fun to drive.

Thumbs down Re: turning radius?

Yeah it's a joke. I've owned this car for seven years now and it's been the worst vehicle. Reliability issues aside, it is a horribly-designed vehicle. It's underpowered (horribly), the turning radius is awful, the gas mileage is ridiculous. CHecked out the inside? The controls are cheap and placed in stupid places; who wants to reach to the floor of the back seat to put the windows up and down? It's stupid. I hate this car more than anything, I wish someone would just do me a huge favor and smash into it so I can get the insurance money. Do yourself a favor and buy a moped; it would be far superior to this hunk of junk in every way possible.
