The controls are cheap and placed in stupid places; who wants to reach to the floor of the back seat to put the windows up and down? It's stupid. I hate this car more than anything, I wish someone would just do me a huge favor and smash into it so I can get the insurance money. Do yourself a favor and buy a moped; it would be far superior to this hunk of junk in every way possible.
you may have the base model but dont put down the car because of that.
i think its well layed out. the seating is great, accesories are right were they should be, easy to get in and out of, visability is awesome i havnt noticed any blind spots. me having the turbo model it's very responsive and handles great. lots of cargo space granted the rear seats are heavy, but it has space.

yeah the turning sucks but using the hand brake correctly lets the car pivit easily on the front 2 tires and if you hit it just right the tail pops right back in line and you moving foward. the turning ratios doesnt affect the car when Autocrossing and there isnt too much body roll, theres still some but it doesnt roll as much as i though it would being a car its size and its center of gravity.

It's strange that nfletche has one or two posts, he has to reach in the back seat to put the windows up & down, methinks he is a "LURKER"

Ernie,

Don't forget the first 4-6 months the PT was made, it only had 2 window buttons up front on the dash for the drivers and front passenger windows. You DID have to reach back to the end of the floor console if you wanted the rear windows up or down.

The poster does go on a bit and could have found out most of what he's angry about before be bought the car. If he didn't, he has nobody to blame but himself.

Underpowered? He's probably a ricer. Mine keeps up with 95% of the traffic and will hit 107. Gas Mileage. It's not the greatest but mid 20's beats a heck of a lot of other cars. Unreliable? I've had 3 problems in 8 years. I wouldn't call that unreliable. As was said, the controls are just fine. The only thing I'd complain about is what this thread was all about in the first place. The turning radius of a Mack truck.

Talking Re: turning radius?

Remind me not to respond to any of "nfletche's" requests for help!
Besides, me thinks he's already driving a moped, and I won't be able to make any helpful interior suggestions!!

could suggest how to duck tape a pole behind the seat on his moped so he can attach an umbrella for those rainy days

I guess I also learned that my PT is an early model as it just has the rear window switches in the back. It's not that bad of a design tho, how often do you open the rear windows when you don't have passengers in the back?

I love my "cheap" PT. The interior is vastly superior to most production cars now which come in one color: black, and they use the same cheap plastic throughout the car. My PT has multiple colors and textures and I think is one of the sweetest interiors put in a car!

My PT also nicely outhandles my buddies Cobalt SS. His car shrieks it's tires around corners and pushes the front end. I run out of nerve before the tires squak. I can take corners easily 10mph faster than his car, I have some body roll, but no squealing or understeer. Wonder how it will be when I have Tokico's, and Eibach swaybars...

Ben
the car will handle alot better.
and the Cobalt SS arnt too bad at handling.
ive drivin one in some tight corners (my buddies too) and the only thing that kept me from going faster was the lack of side bolsters.

sound to me like your a better driver then your friend and that all hes doing is probally understeering.
and if you got behind the wheel you probally could push the car harder then he could.

but hell thats some braging rights!!

Was the one you drove the plain SS or the SS Supercharged? My buddies is the plain SS. I rode with him around a cloverleaf with a 25mph speed limit. We took it at 50mph and it understeered the whole way. I tried it with my car, 60mph, no undserteer, no rubber, but lots of body roll. I didn't want to try faster as that already gets me dizzy enough! I normally take the inside of a turn which makes the car reach it's limits sooner, but gives me more road if I screw up and bite it. From what I've seen I'd think my buddy is a better driver than me.
