Yep, the ground strap (see picture below) was talked about for being the culprit for wheel bearing failure. It's hard to believe but then again, as you can see, I have the ground straps and 94K on the bearings without a problem.



The rust on the chrome wheels as also been talked about on many threads. That may be a a product of cars that are up north with salt on the road. I traded my 16 inch wheels for the 17 inch GT's about 5 years ago. No leakage, no snow/salt either. The problems were all cleared when the owners took the tires off and had the wheels sanded like yourself. Not sure if any of them used any glue.
