Default OIl Change Interval

I purchased GT 18 November 2002. I have changed oil three times. (Time Change) GT now has 2,200 miles and when driven goes around 20 miles. What is factory oil change time & Mileage interval to maintain warranty Everything I read in owners manual says doesn't apply to turbo.

I took my GT to the dealer for its first oil change, and the sticker they put on my windshield said to bring it back in another 4,000 miles.

I still plan on maintaining a 3,000 mile oil change regimen because that's what in the warranty manual and because I like to drive hard sometimes so I'd rather keep the oil as fresh as possible without going overboard.

For a Turbo car or a supercharged car 3000 miles is the max that I would go, Thats my $ .02

What about using a synthetic oil like Mobil One--3000 or 5000 miles between oil changes?

I have used Mobil 1 and changed every 3-4000 miles on my last car that my son drives now, the engine has 225,000 miles and passed California smog with flying colors.
(And by the way it is a Chrysler product.)

Does Mobil 1 really make a difference for an engine or is it only "needed" for a turbo engine? If so, why? All the DC service guys have told me a good quality 5-30 oil is all that my GT requires and I would just be spending extra money with no significant benefits if I purchased Mobile 1. [:I]

Longer engine life the result of less friction cooler running again less friction better gas mileage, you guessed it! less friction!! Most importantly less wear and tear on the turbo! Is it worth the cost? I'd say!

I think you should change the oil every 3 months or 3,000 miles whichever comes first.

If you use Mobil-1, it'll costs about $1,000 or so extra; (5 quarts of oil at $5- each, for each of 23 the oil changes required until the warranty expires.)

Mobil Oil company says there is no truth to the rumor that once you switch to synthetic, you should not switch back to fossil oil.

However, if you want to remind the mechanic, they will mail you free stickers for under the hood that read: "Use Only Mobil-1".
