Has anyone ever raced a supercharged PT? How does our turbo compare?

on paper out GT's should definitely pull a supercharged pt. The only place where it might be an issue is out of the hole in the 1/4. A blower is very limited in terms of tune-ability, the psi you get is what you're stuck with. A turbo is a lot more tunable. Throw a boost controller on the GT and a supercharged PT won't have a damn chance...

I drove a supercharged PT (2001) while test driving it for possible purchase for someone else. Although it DID have a lot more power than stock, it pinged like an S.O.B. & hit the rev limiter too fast in 1st gear.
Though it was strong, I think it would at least be even, but with the turbo pulling away after both were in motion. . . Just my .02 |

I had a rolling start race with a supercharged PT just after getting my turbo. I was bone stock at the time and pulled him easily! I don't really think it's a fair race between the two. Now, if you add exhaust, intake and any kind of boost controller, the supercharged PT can forget it!

PT-Dave, Thanks for not mentioning that it was my Supercharged PT that you took out!
But I still had a good time trying.. HOWEVER! I do own a 03 GT 5-speed now too... [8)] I am glad that you are doing ok.. Hope to see you soon. Should have my new GT at "Cruise the Rockies". the new car is 3 weeks from completion!Moondoggie![8D]
