Default 2004 GT with error code P0122

My 2004 GT has twice now dropped into first gear and suddenly lost speed (first time I was on the highway and went from 70 to 40MPH in about a 1/2-second flat). When this happened the first time, I pulled over and shut the car down. I tried starting it up again to see if I could get home, but the car wouldn't upshift, and ran at about 4K RPM.

I was towed to dealer, they said it was a "brain fart" in the computer and that they reset it and it would not happen again. Naturally, two weeks later it did happen again, had to be towed again, and now the car has been sitting for two-weeks at a different dealer.

The transmission tech keeps insisting that it is a wiring problem, but after taking apart the harness and testing every single wire and connection, was not able to find the problem. Now he wants to drive the car around to see if it will happen again. I drove the car 60-miles a day for two weeks in between incidents, how long does this guy think I'm going to wait?

At any rate, no modifications were made to the car after purchase, and it's been properly maintained. Has anyone ever heard of this problem? The car is not safe to drive in its current condition, and Chrysler is being less than helpful or kind to me. To be honest - I could have been killed the first time this happened, and since I am terrified to drive the car again, I've already purchased a replacement (not a Chrysler, since they've proven themselves not to give a damn about the safety of their customers). But, I still need the car to be fixed and safe to drive so I can sell it. If anyone has any clues I can give to the dealer please let me know. Any ideas are very much appreciated.

Chrysler is driving me nuts. They still haven't found the problem, despite having the car since June 12th. Am I crazy in thinking this has gone on long enough? Why is Chrysler torturing me?

I can't tell what state you are in. Do you have lemon law protection?

I'm in VA, but the lemon law states the problem has to be reported within 18-months of purchase. Of course, I've had the car longer than that. Now going on a month (as of 7/12) in the shop, and still not repaired. I feel like Chrysler is just dragging this out so I'll give up.
