Default How difficult is it to change battery cables?

My car wouldn't start today and I suspect it was corrosion on the cable going to the starter. The accessories seemed to work fine so I don't think the battery itself had a problem. The car ran fine after a jump start. Although, I may bet a new battery anyhow. This one has 38K miles on it. The original battery only lasted 33K miles.

I had cleaned the battery terminals a few weeks ago but not the other side of the starter or chassis side of cables. My guess is that they probably have corrosion too. Instead of cleaning the cables, I think I'll just replace them. I wore off the outer plating on the terminal side during the last cleaning. I noticed they were very corroded today after just a few weeks.

My questions are as follows:
1) How hard is to change the cables? In others words, is it easy to reach things? I don't have a lift or ramps.

2) What length cables should I get? The partsamerica website showed several lengths from 25" to 60" with several in between.
