As the title states I am considering seriously getting a 03 Turbo pt cruiser but I have several questions first...Right now I have a 2000 Mustage stage one Saleen (non Supercharged) and am considering trading it on a PT... I had a Grand National In the past and I just LOVE TURBO cars...With that all being said if I get this PT I want to make it a 12 sec streetable cruiser because I drive 45 miles one way to work everyday ...So I want to know basically what can I do to do this and also how reliable will the vechicle be if I do turn it in to a 12 sec machine.....From what I have gathered so far I was looking at a bigger turbo from I beleive it is Haynes auto...Also how do the tranny hold up? All your input is greatly apreciated if I do get it It will be on friday or Saturday but I definatly want to make sure I can get her in the 12's fairly reasonable on the wallet...thanks again...PT's LOOK AWSOME

if you are getting an auto, and going to make it a big turbo... you WILL: W-I-L-L need a super tranny...
go to ptcrew and check with aj (transman)... he's doing them with much success.

You are looking at around $10k to get into the 12s and that's not including AJ's auto tranny. AJ goes by tranman at PT Crew.

WOW 10 Grand OUCH....So I take it then a bigger Turbo and a few supporting mods wont do the trick....I will probably then just go ahead and through a Supercharger on the Stang then......I didnt realize it was that costly on the pt's thatnks for the info Everyone......Nice site here as well looks to be a lot of good car folks here......

Just do what I did. I supercharged my Marauder and got my PT to drive everyday.

Yeah, you are talking about a heavy car that cuts through the air like a sheet of plywood.
You can get them into the mid to high 13s and not spend that much. My modified '03 GT with stock turbo was running 280 hp at the crank and I had no worries with 90-95% of other cars on the road. No badges, all stealth, a total sleeper.

So what would it take to get them in the 13's then....I guess I could deal with that as long as I still get 20+ MPG on the highway what do you think???
Also I found a 2004 with the mopar stage 1 turbo upgrade on it already with 48,000 miles going for $11,995 what is your opinions on that as well....Thanks again... |
