Hi, I'm new here. My current car is a 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon. I like to go fast. My car is also a mechanical nightmare because of bad mechanics that have worked on it before and during my term of ownership.
So, I'm buying new cars from here on out. I can STEAL this PT, I normally wouldn't consider this car, but I want a comfy fast convertible with reasonable gas mileage. Here's the thing, I'm 27, and I see my Mom as the kind of person who'd drive this car. I surf and fish a lot and will be toting my stuff around in it from time to time. I'll also be driving it 30,000 miles a year and will probably accelerate hard at least 3 times a day. I also don't have the best knees, my last car was a MINI Cooper Convertible, and it hurt my knees a lot. Is this a good car for me? The dealer says make us an offer and we'll accept it. btw, its inferno red, convertible, turbo, manual, leather, and I don't know what else. |

I think you will have a ball with the car. Not sure why it would hurt your knees. It is harder to tote a surfboard with a 'vert though unless you have a real shorty (I'm just an old(er) longboarder though...LOL). If you like to mod cars, this one is fun to work on.

I have shortys and longboards....I guess with the top down put the nose of the board on the floor of the back seat would work. Would a short board (78 inches) fit with the back seat down?
My knees hurt because of the way the seat won't allow my knees to relax. |

The rear seat backs fold down. The front passenger seat back folds down as well. In the sedan models the rear seats may be removed; perhaps it may be the same for the convertible.
The seats are chair height, allowing a more upright driving position than in lower cars, a better driving posture for me. In lower cars one sits closer to the floor with ones legs extended more nearly straight forward. I should think that this is more stressful for one's knees. I have not had knee problems but I have had back troubles. My 2005 PT Limited Turbo driving position is kind to my back. I also like the firm leather seats with lumbar support adjustment.
