how can chrysler get 50 hp from computer programing ?

PCM programming is the only difference. Mechanically the turbo engines are the same.

I don't think it's possible to use a GT pcm in a Lite because the VIN has to be flashed and I'm not sure a dealer or Flight Systems would do it. You can go for the Stage 1 upgrade and get the same power as a GT with a Stage 1 upgrade. In fact, a Stage 1 upgrade is an incredible jump in power for a Turbo Lite PT.

With a turbo motor there is always a lot left on the table in terms of power. They keep the boost down and the timing low so you can run with regular gas and for more longevity. As far as logevity is concerned, the turbo motor is purpose built to withstand the higher stresses of the turbo. Even with 50+ more HP it is no hill for the motor. The HO and S1 programming just bumps up the boost, timing and holds higher levels of boost over a wider range for more power. So yes, they can get more with just programming.
