I just purchased a 2003 PT Cruiser 2.4L Turbo auto stick. I have never had a turbo vehicle before so performance upgrade wise it's a new ball game for me. I have searched the site but haven't found anything on any books and or manuals specifically for the turbo-ed PT. Looking for something that gives step by step instructions on things like boost controllers, blow off valves, etc as well as how to set them up so that the engine doesn't explode after I'm done. Can anyone suggest a few. Not sure there are any for the SRT-4 but if there are would those books work for the PT as well?
Thanks in advance. |

Welcome.
A great deal of what works for the SRT applies to the GT. Differences are intake and computer. Here's a great source of info: PTCrew.com - Learn it or Burn it.

Thank you for the reply. I'll check out the site. No one knows of any books or anything like that huh?
Looks like I should try and find a used 2005 or new plastic intake manifold as well. That seems to be an easy 10 HP. Maybe a junk yard would have one from a wrecked PT. |

From what I've seen and read, the plastic manifold isn't just a parts swap. Some engineering/ Do-It-Yourself adjustments have to be made but can be done at home and worth the extra 10hp.

The plastic manifold is bolt on. The only thing to worry about is attaching the oil dipstick tube to the intake. Easily done with handy skills.
