I took the GT back after I was told the door latch came in. It took them a while to replace the latch, and I had them take it back and do it right as the lock button wasn't working. I talked to the service manager about the "update", so he had the mechanic reflash the update (the service rep wasn't aware of the reflash). The service rep took it for a test drive and told me he was impressed with the power. I drove it home and couldn't believe the performance, then the engine light came on before I made it home. They had pulled off the orange line to the waste gate! I put the line back on the waste gate, reset the computer and took it back out for a drive. My normal power was back! They didn't know they had fixed it or they wouldn't have pulled the line off and sent me on my way.I called both the manager and service rep to inform them of the orange line being removed, but that my car was running good again. I guess we don't have an actual Chrysler tech on this forum as I never got a response to my question " what are they capable of in programing the PCM?".

Glad you got your baby back. With the orange line off how much power did it have compared to the right way? Is it safe to drive it like this or would it melt the pistons if you drove it hard?

Pull the orange line off the waste gate and see for yourself, but just for a quick ride as it is not controled by the PCM. As it turns out when I went for the test drive by the salesman 5 years ago that power was there, and after signing the paperwork they took the car to wash it and put gas in it. The power was gone, and I took it back 3 times for the dealer to check it out. This last time at the dealer an old mechanic came up to me and said your the guy that was upset 5 years ago because there was no power as when you test drove it, well the orange line came off and we put it back on. It was a little funny that the same orange line came off again while at the dealers. At least I now know what happened 5 years ago, and why I never saw that power again until last Friday.

you asked about the "FLASHING" of the pcm well to sum it up its basicly a software update from chrysler, its a full reprogram of the running software it takes to make your pcm work, there is no adjustments with it , the basic point of it is to fix the f*ck ups of the early software that was loaded into the cars computer..

pulling the orange line off unhooks the wastegate and removes the pcm's ability to control the boost levels of the turbo....very bad. Now they have alot of safeguards in place so that you don't end up with engine parts all over the ground after the first time you floor it, but def. not a good idea to run like that
