True, but I will have to stay at the dealer cuz I dont want an asshole gresemonkey beating on my car. I caught a guy at the VW dealer beeting on my 1.8T Golf when I was about to pick it up after the trans spewed. It could only hold I here 230 HP. There WERE words exchanged! The boost was cranked on my boost controller too! After that I do not trust the Dealer, any of them!! Im sure there are some good ones, but I have yet to find one.

The dealership I deal with has a bad rep when it comes to the small stuff like oil changes ect. But when it comes to the larger stuff they are OK. The steering gear replacement went well and I have no real complaints except for the noisy pump which I plan to complain about.

I have had an experience in the past where a dealership damaged my car and then tried to cover it up. I had a '92 Duster and when they had it up on the lift to change the oil they left the hood up and it hit the ceiling and took some paint off the edge of the hood. They tried to tell me it was like that when I dropped it off!!!![}]

I had to call Chyrsler directly and complain. about a half hour later I got a call from the service manager. They were going to paint the whole car and give me a years service for free.

I learned after that to take pictures of the car everytime you bring it in...and let them see you do it. They tend to be much more careful.

Now I think is a great idea. As they are writing up the paper work you go around taking pictures. Great, great, great. Love it.

Quick little story. Back in the early 1970's I had a Chrylser Dipomat station wagon (kids ages 5 and 1). The dealer we took the car to for service had a drawing of a car with the hood, fenders, doors etc. Kinda like what the rental car places have now. Anyway, he would walk around the car & if something was damaged he would make a note of it. Well, one day after having the car serviced I picked up the car only to notice a big dent over the back tire. Showed the service manager who right away took out that little drawing and had to admit their fault and had it fixed. They don't do that anymore now, do they.[:I] That to me shows that the dealer ships know that they do not handle peoples cars very well. No ball$

something else you may want to consider is removing the factory hood prop.

It has been suggested here before and it is a good idea. The hood prop is so recessed on these that it is VERY easy to forget about it and pull the hood down without releasing it. This will do severe damage to the hood...DUH

My dealership had this happen so many times that they forbid the techs from using it. The have a makeshift peice that they use instead. I am considering removing mine but I want to replace it with struts. However I cannot find a set in Canada....

you'll have to get these from the states but you'll be getting the best[?] Easy to install, no problems what so ever and you can order them in the color of your choice. By the way, once I installed these I took the hood prop out! Now I can't even forget to put it down.

I had a little prob like that with my first PT, except i didn't catch them in the act, only 10km later on the odometer. I asked the guy: "Wow, that must have been a real long drive to the service lift?"
him: "Why?"
me: "We'll there are an extra 10 km's on my odo."
him: "We had to go make sure it was running properly"

Another case of sever bull$h!T
