Here's a quarter mile times list of most modern cars. The '01 PT is on there, but no GT yet...

the times listed for the GT are a little suspect in my opinion. I have NO doubt that's what THEY ran. But I have seen some discrepancy in other supposed 1/4 mile times, in such magazines as Road and Track as well as Car and Driver. It all depends on conditions, driver, technique etc... The only REAL way to know is to take it to the track, but they do serve as a rough guide.

Well Old head,

All my kills where at the track. I think I have a little Old head in me also.
I live in rice burner paradise. I hate it since I came from the old V8 school but the V8 are almost extinct here. I have to make them respect the PT.

First pass ever:
15.74 Completly stock against a Mitsu Mirage with loud pipes and intake which made 16.35.

Next week with air silencers removed and a Hallman Boost controller at 10 PSI
15.42 against a Mitsu Eclipse GST-R and also beat it, The Eclipse did 16.01

Nest time with the air silencer remove, hallman Boost controller at 12 PSI, rear weather strip removed and the BTG single exhaust in place of the factory.
14.87 against a new Acura Integra RSX or whatever series is, the integra had intake and exhaust but he did a 15.98.

las time at the strip with the air silencers removed, A'PEXi AVC-R Boost controller at 14 PSI constant and BTG exhaust weather strip removed
14.01 against a WRX. Of coure he beat me but after this pass I had Fans!!!
There were a lot of people following my passes and chearing for the little wagon that could...

Yes I stopped at the door of the 13 sec world.

I stoped going to the track because I have not done anything to the car after this and there is no need to beat the car. I stoped street racing because the tickets are to rich for my blod and the track only charges $7.00 for all the passes you can give in one night.

I am now waiting for Stage one, BOV, Turbo up intake and maybe a Nex Intercooler spray bar. and off to the 13 sec world. BTW all of this has been done with the Factory tires and wheels. If I get a pair of slicks it should be a sec faster, if the same math applies to this car as it does to the old 8 Cyl world.

Ian

You're hoping to drop from a 14.01 to a 13.01 with just adding slicks?? That's QUITE the goal. The best slick setup i've heard of is runninga 15" VW golf wheel with a nice set of drag radials. I'm trying to pick up a used set.

I am not sayng that it would go to an exact seccond but it would be close to those numbers.

Look at PVO-PTs car. He is doing 13.5 at the track with "light Mods" (I don't think he has opened the engine and made any big mods that we can't do, but I may be wrong). If you apply this to my numbers, The car should run in the mid to low 13 sec Relm Like PVOs.

Ian

That is correct. I only have "bolt on" parts. Exhaust no cat, S1, Short thro shifter, Mopar BOV, and Turbo inlet tube conected to factory air box. Thats it and the 205-50-15 BFG drag radials. they are worth .3 over the 17's. I think most of it is the shorter tire and improved accelaration. Slicks are next, Could NOT get grip at Norwalk.

PVO, are you running you stock airbox w/ K&N and an aftermarket intake tube?? I forget what your exhaust setup you're running, it's a dump pipe right??
