I have a 2.5 in tube (custom) that goes from the turbo to the airbox. I am using the STOCK a/b and have found it to be more efficent than an "fresh air" style setup. It has been tested at the track. The K/N also is a no-no on the stock a/b 'cause the stock has more filtering area and may be more restrictive, but it stops MOST dirt. The reason the K/N flows more is cause it has larger openings between the small fibers and lets more dirt in. And yes I am running a dump where the Cat. used to be. It comes out the drivers side.

Thats right!! Everyone looks at the airbox and says to there friend, You can take him, he still has an airbox!!? They are what is known as "magazine rice racers" If your airbox is still on to them your WHOLE car MUST be stock! I pitty the foo!
