I also feel your pain.
I live in an Island that the top seling vehicle are the SUVs.
You see soccer moms driving this monsters while talking on the celphone, searching for a good song on the radio, using the rear view miror as a vanity miror while aplying a third coat of paint and searching for a cookie for the kid.... including my wife... I can't let her drive with me on the car, I realy use the "oh Sh**" handle and my ulcer starts to bleed...

Just remember the SUV (Stupid Ugly Vehicle) is the replacement for the station wagon of days gone by. Women feel they are higher up for greater visibility, in a bigger, "safer" vehilce and can haul everything/everybody to and from the soccer field. Oh and with the huge rear window, you can put all the soccer balls with names on them that you want. My neighbor's wife drives one she can't even get in her garage.

If the woman admitted she didn't see you, let her demonstrate it!! If she cannot see around her 'twuck', let the judge and her attorney see that and save yourself some time arguing symantics.

SUVs (aka turds, SPS-mobile) don't have to meet car safety standards, and that's too bad. Last week an SUV suddenly shot across the Interstate median, hit another SUV and a car head-on!! The only survivors were the people in the car...

Similar thing happened to me,another car hit me and the driver side stepped the issue. We talked till he finally confessed that it was his fault. RIGHT THEN AND THERE, I ASKED HIM TO WRITE IT DOWN, JUST AS HE HAD SAID, AND SIGN IT.
Problem solved.
He decided to pay cash to get the car fixed, but if you ask your insurance adjustor, the signed note in their handwriting is the end of any arguement. Chargable accidents DO raise your premiums!

gsharrock...

i think we can all feel your pain.

and its all media hype too

whos commercial shows the 4ft woman wheel an suv the size of a tank inbetween 2 bikes and hop out like shes king of the world?

cause we all see that happen everyday....

i'm with the blame the drivers, not the vehicle.

BUT i do think bad drivers tend to flock to specific vehicles, like suv's and minivans. i see packs of those and my defences are up.

as for insurance, the "private parking" rule SUCKS. i don't know who invented that one, but i hope they rot in hell. AT FAULT IS AT FAULT. i don't mind paying for MY mistakes, but i sure HATE when i have to get labeled a crap driver because i got hit in a parking lot. it's taken me 3 accidents to not be nice about it any longer (none with the pt so far thank god) and 1 of those was with a BUS. i think he drives an suv on his time off.....

oh...and biiiiiiiig pickups are bad too. a full size dodge ram backed into me about 3 weeks ago, his trailer hitch hit my bottom grill. not too hard, but we were inline at dairy queen, and he just throws it in reverse and bam. wtf!?? i jumped out cursing and swearing loudly and i see his windows go up. didn't see any damage, but he should have atleast bought my ice cream for that....
