Kirby - You have beat this issue to *death*! If this had happened with an S1 computer, simply swap the original back in and when it does the same thing, than ta-da, it's not the computer.
Are you going to find a way to bring this up in every thread on the board?

It would probably be more appropriate to discuss your thoughts on Bob's problem than your problem with me. You might be able to drive up to Staten Island and give Bob a hand, since curing problems is so easy for you.

I would solicit Bob's opinion on whether a note discussing the worth of the DC's warranty is pertinent here.

By the way, ask your service guy: just removing and replacing the PCM yourself can be constituted as a warranty-canceling "Modification". Ever wonder why they paint the tops of the mounting screws?[:I]

Hey Bob, I knew your Turbo didn't have any mods, but with so many people on the forum there are a lot a similar sounding names. I think this might be the case here. I think Kirby thought you were someone else that had quite a bit of mods done. That would make this issue a little stickier.

bigdogdad and bobs turbo pt,
I wasn't trying to confuse this issue, but to point out that you can do everything by the book and still have problems. There are several fast and loose people that don't or won't see this issue. The PT Turbo is a complicated piece of machinery with plenty of built in gremlins without modifications.
My point is just to add balance. How many SRT-4 Stage 1 owners want to get rid of their units now that they are unhappy? I really don't feel that being critical is being negative, just maybe a little wiser.
I wish the NASSA folks had been a little more critical recently.

Bob- youe best bet is to take it to another dealer first, it SHOULD be covered under warranty, you're right. If you had a boost controller they'd probably tell you to go "F" yourself (in nicer words of course... But don't give up, tell the service guys that it is a hazard to drive b/c you commute to work by highway everyday and to have the car kick into limp mode while trying to make an exit or on ramp merge is dangerous. Request a loaner vehicle which they MUST supply if the repair is going to take longer than one business day. If they have any "opinion" on the matter, simply slide in a comment to their service manager that it would be very unfortunate should DC headoffice hear about this and a certain dealership have their 5-star rating put under review.
From my experience, threatening their 5-star rating is a surefire way to get you voice heard...

heres the problem, there is only one dealer ship here on staten island, i didn't buy the car there but the have treated me great taking the car right away etc, the dealership i bought the car from is in new jersey about 45 miles away they told me well i don't know what you want us to do for you?? so i have been dealing with these guys on staten island,i spoke with chrysler the woman on the phone that they do not give out loaner cars anymore as they don't have the insurance for it ?? the she told me if you want you can rent a car and we will pay up to 30.00 a day for 5 days well the cheapest car at the place they told me to go was 32.00 so it would cost me $ 2.00 a day and then this is the best !! she said you pay for it send us the bill and we will pay you back but it takes 60 -90 days for you to get your money back !!

It would be prudent to get to know the wording and timetables of your lemon law, sounds like you may have been casualty number one. Please let everyone know along the way!

File the Lemon Law claim. Don't wait and hopefully you do not need a lawyer to do it. I can only imagine - hope - that NY's Lemon Law is at least as good of FL's. The clock does not start running until you file the claim.

Did one for a 1999 Mustang Cobra and got Ford's attention and a fix. Had to do one for the 2003 DC2 and got Chryslers' attention - and a fix for my squealing belts (ps pump issue).

My dealership - bought and serviced there - provided a rental two times from Enterprise at no cost. YMMV.

Good luck,

PeTe
