[8)]Just got back from a Seven state trip (Florida to Wisconsin) in our GT. Did really well overall. It didn't like the roads (terrible) in the Chicago area, but got around 22-24 mpg on most tanks (best was 25.6 and worst was 19.7). Had fun zipping past unsuspecting cars and trucks (ask the guy in the Hemi Dodge Pickup)LOL! Just thought I'd pass it on. Oh yeah, the new "narrower" belt didn't slip or squeal once. (May remember I had an issue with squealing belts for awhile). Just got through changing the oil and it wasn't terribly dirty, 'course it had only been in there for two weeks, but it had been 3,600 miles. Synthetic forever!
See'ya! Joe |

Sounds like your car performed well on a nice trip. Bet you picked-up a few bugs along the way...
I'm switching to synthetic oil--Mobile 1--this week at my 6000 mile oil change. |

LOTS of bugs, Gary!! Had to remove the billet grille to clean off the radiator and condensor properly. Glad it's just two bolts!
You'll love synthetic....added reliability AND free horsepower. Win, win situation for sure! Joe

I just switched over to synthetic last week. My PT had 5730 miles on her at the time.
I went on a 240+ mile trip last weekend. Fully loaded (camping gear plus two mountain bikes attached by hitch mounted Mopar bike rack), my car got about 2MPG more than my camping trip a month ago (roughly same load). It felt like my PT coasted easier as well, but that could be a placebo effect. I tell ya though, I can't tell if it's love for my car, or obsession. I've never had a car that I felt so strongly about that I would go out and buy all the equipment (rhino ramps, oil filter wrench, drain pan, etc.) so I could do all of my oil changes myself. In the end, I'll end up paying about $30 per oil change ($18.88 for Mobil-1 from Wally world + $10.00 for K&N oil filter), which is about $5 more than I would pay to have an oil change place put in dino oil. I'm doing it though because I've read too many good reviews of synthetic vs. dino oil for turbo engines. I want to do everything I can to make this car last forever. Another vote for obsession is, when I had her up on the ramps and I was looking underneath I was thinking, "This would make it so easy to clean the undercarriage!". Like I don't spend enough time washing and waxing already LOL! ![]()
