Default Newbie from chgoland w/questions

Hello all, I'm a noob, I bought an 04 Turbo Cruzer, and I think it is the coolest car I've ever owned. I've been lurking for almost a month and have learned so much already, but I have a question. Whenever I fill up the tank it runs funny for a couple of miles and it has died once. I don't know the cars history ( it has 90000 miles but it is in GREAT condition, it's like a brand new car) so it's getting a tune up, plugs, wires, air filter and oil change ( is Mobile 1 reccommended?). Is there anything else I should do from all you guys and girls and your experience.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

do you top off when you fill-up? i read somewhere that it can throw an engine code, prob'ly a vacuum thing i would guess.
maybe something in your tank and you stir it up when filling up?only time something like that happened to me i had water in tank and had to drop tank and clean it out.

by the way uncle lar,you and little tommy got any animal stories to share??

Welcome to the forum. I've used Mobil1 in my PT since I bought it. In fact I use Mobil1 in all my cars for optimum performance and protection.

As far as your problem is concerned, I would run the tank down, then pour in a bottle of Techron Plus into the tank, then fill the tank. You may have some sulpher in your tank that's creating your problem. If this doesn't work, than add a second bottle and do it again. Good luck!

Welcome.
Definitely Mobil 1, particularly for a turbo.
Do Plugs & wires - (Crane wires www.RaceAndStreet.Com) and copper or irridium plugs gapped about 0.040 and then see how it is.

Thanks for the replies and the advice, me and little snotnose Tommy are still here counting all his shiny new nickles!!
Boy am I old
I think the cruzer has always had Mobile 1, I found a list of oil changes in the back of the manual yesterday, every 5000 miles!
I put a bottle of Lucas fuel treatment in it a couple of fillups ago, didn't see any change.
It might just need a tuneup. Although it goes like a greased pig, it might be as fast as my Corvette motored 65 Impala!

I'd rather put urine in my crankcase than Mobil 1. On the Walmart side, Pennzoil synthetic or Shell Rotella Synthetic (5W40 only) are better than Mobil 1. Even better are Royal Purple and AMSOIL if you can find it.

Sounds like plugs or wires. I had a similar situation on my 94 New Yorker. It would sputter and jump and cut in and out when I filled it up, it was like it was drowning the engine, so I had new plugs and wires installed, and the problem was fixed.

I use Castrol GTX in all my vehicles. 10w 40. Stuff is great.
