Be sure to keep us posted if something happens again (I hope our cars won't overheat again of course!).

Gear_Head - Thanks for taking the time with the pictures and explanation. I believe even I can do this! Obviously, after the realization that the factory gauge is useless...a working one is going in!

ZZ, Fabricated the bracket out of 3/4" aluminum stock purchased at home depot. Measured, bent @ 90 degree angle. Drilled it and mounted it to the bolt that attaches the base plate for the air box. As you can see a large wormscrew clamp holds the Tee to the mount. Any questions give me a call or an E-Mail. [|)]

My car is at the dealer tonight, after overheating for the third time in 6 months. I have not put in any mods...I will report once I get my car back tomorrow.
I have to turn my heater on to full for 30 minutes, so that I could get to the dealer! Hope they can really diagnose what is going on there then...

Mine recently overheated also. Have Stage I, Mopar BOV, and Airaid intake. Overheat only occurred once, at about 4500 miles. Interestingly, mine happened in heavy rain also...this can't be a coincidence. Fortunately I haven't seen a repeat performance in the past few days.
On a separate note, anyone know why the special red "HOAT" coolant is required, and just what is that anyway? Can I get it at a local auto parts store or do I have to go to a dealer? Thanks!

I have had the same intermittent overheating problem. The first time the problem was traced to a missing 40a fuse. The second time, I just reseated the same 40a fuse and it's been almost a month now and no problems. However as was mentioned earlier, I will trace down the ground wire for the circuit and see if it is connected properly.
Well, this what I've found after spending 4 hours on a wild goose chase. First of all the 40A radiator fuse was missing because it's not supposed to be there. (duhhh) I disassembled the the entire PD box, etc. Then I slowy read through the wiring diagrams and found out that I was looking at the wrong one. (#$%&) But the good things that happen are as follows: I reseated the main connector under the the PD box and all the relays inside the the PD box. Then I reassembled it making sure that everything was secure. I was impressed they really put that section together right. Also, while I was at it. I cleaned out the airfilter box. All in all a good 4 hours. It starting to look like the solution for this overheat problem (for now) is to shut the car down and then restart it. macster

You may want to take a look at the lemon laws in your state, in Ca they get 4 tries to fix a problem and that's it. Finally, if the problem happens again, follow the procedure in the owners manual, and then take it to the dealer at the next available oppurtunity, and be sure to keep all your documentation. I'll look in the service manual for the actual trouble shooting procedure when I get back home on Friday. JM2C macster

Thanks for the tip. I actually have brought my car in yesterday WHILE it was overheating. Still, after numerous tests last night and today, nothing could be found, and the temperature did not once go over the half way point.
I'll be looking forward to your input. Thanks macster!
