Default funny thing happens when I start the car

Howdy all,

I hope someone can help me. A few seconds after I start my car I can here a funny noise I have not heard before. It sounds like the radiator fan starts up and then turns off and slows down. I opened the hood and I didn't see the fan running. Any idea what this is and if it is a problem that I need the dealer to check out?

Thanks,
Frank[?]

Frank, mine started doing it after S1 install. I'm not worried about it, yet...[:I]

Frank,

Are you running Stage 1?

No Stage I here, but mine does that, too. Sounds like an old fire truck siren slowly winding up, then spooling off.

Nope, so stage 1. No other engine mods except K&N filter. Mine sounds like a fan starting, slowing down and stopping. Not as loud as a old fire truck siren.

It is the PCM checking all the systems including the Radiator fan. It is testing the variable speed of it. It is a normal sound straight from DC.

No Prob.

The first time I heard it I thought it was the turbo spooling up, but thanks for the info Dalite sent me, I was able to find that the PCM controls almost the entire car including the radiator fan relays.

Ian
