Default Replaced battery - Speedometer needle is off the peg

Does anybody know how to get the speedometer needle back on the right side of the peg? Chrysler tech used handheld computer to recalibrate and couldn't fix it. He said we need to take to cluster out and shake the needles. There has to be a better way....right? (2003 GT) Thanks.

Maybe not, but try this.

There's a way of testing all the dials and numbers in all three parts of the guages.

Take the key and put in in the ignition but don't turn it yet. Awkward but reach over with the other hand and push in the odometer reset button, hold it in and turn the key to the ON position without starting the engine. In a second or two the numbers in the center dial will start to count up ....1111111, 2222222 etc. Now you can let go of the button but keep the key turned ON. After the numbers count all the way up, each of the dials (one at a time) will go from low to med to high, or OFF to ON, testing each dial all thru all of the guages. See what it does when the speedometer dial starts to test itself, just maybe it will reset to where it's supposed to be. Good Luck.

Your welcome. Glad to be of assistance. Don't forget to tell the Chrysler tech next time you see him.
