Default I know someone else had this problem.....

...but I can't find it in the search. I got my GT at the end of March. Lately, it seems that once I start the car, if I put it in reverse or drive, it'll start hiccuping. Then, it'll either be okay after a few seconds, or stall. Over the last two days, it's been stalling about four or five times before I can get moving.

I thought maybe it had something to do with my turbo timer, but I shut that off and it still happened. Then I thought maybe it was because I was turning on the A/C before putting it in drive, but that didn't change things either. It started out not just when I was starting the car, but sometimes just sitting at a traffic light.

I took it to my dealer this morning. They said that they could not recreate the problem, checked all sensors and vacuum lines, and did not find anything wrong at all. So I left. And as soon as I did, it happened again!!!

Has anyone else had this problem? Or have any ideas on what it could be? So frustrating!!!!!! [xx(]

I have noticed my doing this too. I have a 5-speed. I pull straight into my parking space at work and into my garage at home. I find that when I start, then shift to reverse, and back out of my spot, everything is fine. But when I shift into 1st, and then try to go, I tend to stall. My co-workers get a chuckle out of it. You would think that after driving manual trannys for the last 25 years, I would know how to let the clutch out
However, now I have found that it only seems to happen when the engine is completely cold. Once I take off and drive somewhere (even a short distance), then I can't re-create it. It simply goes away. I'm going to start letting it warm up a little bit longer and see if that helps.

I'd noticed this in mine as well, recently (got it in April). I would start it up, put it in reverse and as I put it in gear, the engine would act like a huge load was put on it and slow down. After backing up and putting it in drive, it would do the same thing. It doesn't happen every time, but often enought that I've noticed it. It hasn't stalled yet, either, but a couple of times, it seemed like it was about to! I think it's time for a trip to the dealer! I'm due for a check up anyways....

So for those of you who have had experience dealing with the service departments at your local dealers, how do I get them to replace the ECU? There's no guarantee that'll fix it (especially since they couldn't find anythingwrong with it in the first place), and I think they'd be less willing to help me because I didn't by the car from them (but I'm not driving another 6 hours to the dealer I did get it from!)

Suggestions welcome!

But Alan, this didn't happen above 5200 RPM. You think I could still get by?
