Ok I just got a 2003 Pt Cruiser GT with 80k on it. What kinda oil should I use for the first oil change? I believe its been running non synthetic. Should I run full synthetic or semi synthetic?

Use full synthetic. I use Mobil 1 in all my cars.

I've used Mobil One since the first oil change as well. Go full Synthetic it's the best choice. Don't forget a good oil filter, I use K & N.

So 5W-30 Fully Synthetic Mobil 1? Does Mopar make a filter for it? Also another question. This is my second day with the car and today it was giving me the low oil pressure warning than going off did it like 7 times than it stopped, think maybe a faulty sensor?

I love it. Just hoping the sensor is faulty on the oil pressure light. Is the Mobil 1 oil filter good? K&N is like $15 mobil 1 is $10

Chrysler absolutely recommends using only full synthetic oils in their turbo engines. They recommend changing every 3000 miles. The bearings in the turbo get very hot. When you spool down they rely on residual oil for lubrication. Synthetic oils can operate at higer temperatures then the NS oils.
Semi-Synthetics have the same characteristics as the NS oils. They offer no appreciable benifits. Why a Chrysler filter? I have been using FRAM Toughguard filters with great results. |
