Default Update on my tranny woes...

Well its that magical time of the year when having two kids actually pays for itself and Uncle Sam puts a few bucks back in my wallet, so off to the tranny shop I know to find out just what happened as the fluid/filter wasnt working nor was the solenoid pack.
Ive known the shop for 20 years now, having sent work there way for over ten while in the oil change business, and they have done no less than 5 transmissions for me! Yes, I have zero luck with automatics!
Seems I broke the snap ring on some main assembly that in turn took out the 3/4 clutch packs. They have only seen that happen one other time, and it was also a PT GT automatic. So i got my full rebuild, new solenoid block and another torque convertor as the old one was metal shaving fluid filled and Im back in action!

Glad you/they found the problem. Does sound like you have bad luck with automatics. Hope this one last for awhile.

I have had 2 complete rebuilds with a new torque converter each time. Since the last rebuild I detuned my GT back to stock except for the plastic intake manifold and K&N drop in air filter. I had considered the stage 1 upgrade, but I don't think the autostick can handle it. Now that the 7/70 warranty is over I don't want to push my luck.
