I have a '05 GT and I want to replace my brake pads with ceramic brake pads. I prefer to go with the best performance pads if possible. It looks like there are two main one people on this site are using - NAPA and Hawk. Which are better? I have read that these are loud is this true? How loud? Do you hear over normal conversation or radio? Thanks!

I have been using Axxis pads on my other car. The company is Australian based. A set of axle pads costs about $80.00. Very little to no dust. No noise.
Reasonable rotor wear. Excellent stopping power increase over OEM. The pads seem to be wearing well. I am not sure they make a set for the Cruiser. |

NAPA on both of the past PT's and one this one. Very little dust, no noise that I have been able to hear either in the car with or without the radio on, windows open or closed. About $70 - 80.

Ceramic brake pads causing excessive noise??? No!
I put a NAPA set on the front of my na soonercruiser, and no problems at all. Now, I'm not sure about the Raybestos brand. PepBoys were selling the out their Raybestos ceramics, and I got the last set in their Las Vegas warehouse for the GT vert.

Guys, thanks for the replies. I have been having a hard time finding retailers for the NAPA ceramic pads. Can you reply with links? Thanks again!

I was not able to find pads for the GT but there the same pads as an SRT-4
you can get the HAWK ceramic pads but the HAWK HPS are just as quiet and have a real strong bite low on dust and gentle on rotors. the best stopping power for Hawk is the HP+ pad. ![]() they are noisy sound like there grinding im not going to lie but the bite is strong enough to cause wiplash and no brake fade. cheapest place ive found for HPS is: 2003-2005 Dodge SRT4 Brake Pads, Rotors, Big Brake Kits - Dodge SRT4 - Dodge Caliber SRT4 - Dodge Neon - Chevrolet Cobalt SS Performance Parts and Accesories F/R $69/$53 cheapest HPS combo deal is: Hawk HPS SRT-4 Front + Rear Brake Pads : COMBO DEAL*-*Brakes*-*TurboNeonStore.com F/R $104 Hawk Ceramic Front & Rear Brake Pad Sets Ceramic F/R combo is $149 Stick with HAWK there race proven and wont let you down.

I prefer semi metallic pads. They last forever and zero brake dust.
