Default Plugs

Went to three auto-parts stores for plugs on Friday - all recommended the Platinum (as in their guide), none had the Champion copper's in stock (OEM - and recommended here). Even the little help guide at Walmart shows the P's. I've read the bits here about not for the turbo's - has anyone had such an experience with the P's coming apart?

I've got a little idle vibration that I'm hoping new plugs and wires will help.

In my experience, and from all I've read, the wires are more likely the problem. The stock wires are crap and I started to get a "stumble" or "miss" before 20,000 miles - wires and plugs cured it.
Most parts stores can get you plugs by the next day, but by all means change out the stock wires.
Gap at 0.040, put anti-seize (a dab) on the plug threads, and dielectric grease on the plug boots (both ends).
