What is the Turbo Lite PT?

What the heck is this turbo lite version I keep hearing about that is a turbo model PT but requires only regular gas rather than premium? Is it still a GT? What years was it offered, as I know the GT's were introduced in 03 and made through 05 if not still?

Any help is appreciated. I'm really looking forward to getting a PT in the next month or so and have inquired my uncle who goes to the dealer auctions to find me a GT turbo 5 spd one. I am big on teh 80s Shelby Dodge stuff and cannot go without a turbo/ic setup! hahaha

The turbo lite is a detuned version that is 180 hp and programmed to use regular. They only come with an auto tranny.

Gotcha... so there aren't any GT's to be confused as being a turbo0 light, right? Reason I ask is because I want to make sure my uncle knows exactly what to find me at the auction and what I want is a GT 5 spd. turbo, as its my understanding that the GT's are the performance ones rather than the tuned down version correct?

Good lucky finding a PTGT 5-speed.. Many of us have had to go out of state to get a decent one.

The turbo light has disc breaks in the front and drums in the back... the GT has all 4 disc breaks... also your shift knob on the GT's you can pull it towards you.... push it to the left and down shift push it to the right and shift to the next gear..

Not always - I ordered mine with 4-wheel disk ABS - it was an option.

Correct... they are the same breaks that are on the N/A model

Remember Mike(ausm), and Alan both have Lite's and 4-wheel discs.. MiO has the Lite with the disc/Drum..
