If you open up the intake past the airraid it will make more of a difference both in intake and exhaust sound, at least I found that to be so. The airbox to turbo pipe really chokes down to a small opening because of the sound reducer built in to it. Get or make a new pipe for this.

Definitely airraid. Anything to keep those intake temperatures down. AKA...the farther away from the motor and closer to the front you can get your intake...the better.
