Thanks fellas. I just heated it up and twisted it off to the side so it wont hit the fuel rail.

On another note I was wondering about the turbo ECU. My customer swapped his stock ECU for an '06 Turbo ECU. Its running kinda rough and I'm guessing its because of the slight differences in the motors. Does the turbo come with a different MAF sensor? I'm thinking that is one of the reasons for rough idle in addition to timing. Thanks for the help in advance.

From PT Do-It-Yourself.net:

The PT is a speed density design. There is no MAF. It uses MAP manifold absolute pressure and IAT air intake temp sensors. No matter what you add, the PCM will keep the fuel trim at 14.7:1, or stoichiometry.

It doesn't say anything about the Turbo model being different than the Non-turbo.

No MAF. The turbo and na are the same. Chrysler makes changes every year and using a different year pcm is not recommended.

Its a MAP not MAF.

Stock plugs and wires are usually the cause or rough idle, these cars don't idle that smooth when its new plugs and wires, always a little shake to them Just FYI there. Stronger torque struts add to the shake-always feel like the A/C is on.

Thanks guys. His turbo is pretty big and it had a lot of shaft play. I tried to get him to use another one but he wanted to stay with what he had. It smokes pretty bad so I think he's going to listen to me now. Not to mention its not making any boost.

I asked about the MAF because it wont go over 2500-3000 rpm. Any other car that I've worked on with that issue turned out to be the MAF or a vaccum hose. We changed the plugs but he doesnt want to spend the money on the wires. Its getting an error code for TDC, among others, so I'm guessing the timing is off also.

Ok he's being a "Radio Edit".. Rebuild kit at least for the turbo, if one is made since you say he's running a big turbo. And wires are a MUST if they are stock ones = crap.

Car sounds like its in "LIMP MODE" meaning you can't get it out of second so the car can't eat itself more than it has.

You know what its not the car that has an issue, its pulling timing since its overboosting.. I just went back and did some reading, what are you boosting before it went boom so to speak? Stock Turbo PCM? Nope not gonna cut it, you need to have a piggyback to control boost seperately from the PCM since the PCM will NOT allow anything over the basis stock setting and will just try anything to keep it that way..
