engine stalling

hello everyone. i hope i can get some help here. i was drining my gt cruiser back and forth to work without the ac on. then the kids and my wife wanted to take a drive so we all got in i started the car put on the ac and the engine seemed to want to turn off it did this a couple of times it would want to die then all of a sudden would idle at normal speed . i turned the ac off started to drive then turned it on and everything was fine. thanks in advance for any help you guys could give me.

yes it was hot bob. i live in califonia and the temp was about 105 outside. i tried to find other post about it but couldnt locate any.

Have you changed your air intake? If so, are all connections tight?

i have not done any mods to the car aj. and air box connections seem to be fine.

hey onyx, any codes coming up ?? dont start the car just advance the key forward three times and look to see if any letters or numbers come up were the mileage is

Onyx, I have a very similar problem with my car, here in Pennsylvania. I was hiccuping or stalling at idle, sometimes when I would first start my car and put it in drive or reverse, or sometimes just sitting at a traffic light.

I took it in to the dealer twice, and both times they couldn't find anything wrong, couldn't recreate the problem, and the computer showed no error codes. But since I've taken it back the second time about a month ago, I haven't had the problem again.

some say it could also be due to a bad tank of gas....

my father has a 03 300m had bad gas it had the rotten egg smell dealership said put the best gas you can find in it and it will go away and what do you know it did!! did your pt ever give the rotten egg smell??

i never had the egg smell,but i do not always use the top gas stations to put gas.chevron, shell, etc. I mainly go to arco gas stations in my area because of the prices here in california. but i always put the highest grade witch is 91 octane. what are your guys opinions on gas stations.
