Default What I learned on my summer vacation.

Well, I drove the PT down to just South of West Palm Beach, FL to visit my Mother over the Holiday weekend. Had a good trip down, nice weather, *BEAUTIFUL* women, and great cars. I hooked up with Mike Schreiber who owns the hand-made all-metal yellow panel cruiser. We went to the Tower Shops cruise-in in Davie, and that was great.Lots of neat cars there.Anything from PTs, to Corvetts, to Sunbeams, to Astin Martins, to Jags, to you name it.
Things I learned on my vacation:

1) The PT Turbo will get right at 27MPG on a 600 mile trip, but only if you stay at 70MPH.
2) When fixing scratches on a Tangerine Dream Cruiser Series 2, *DO NOT* try and use a mixing machine for the color! It comes out too light.Instead, order a pint of PPG Global paint and it's a dead-on match.
3) There's a big PT club presence in South FL.
4) Some of you guys hang *way* too much stuff on your cars.
5) It takes a minimum of 10 minutes of serious scrubbing with a squeegie to get the love-bugs off of your windshield after you drive through Northern FL on the way home.
6) Tift County, GA will actually write you a ticket for 95MPH without hauling you to jail.
7) A ticket for 95MPH in Tift County, GA will cost you $500.
8) When you're running 75 in the fast lane, and a couple of chics in a Mustang crawl up your rearend doing *way* over that, you should step on the gas, *not* the brake, to get out of the way.
9) When doing #8, you may get a ticket in Tift County, GA.

For the few people in South FL that I met at the Tower Shops Cruise-In, it was nice meeting you.

Later...

Could have told you about tift county...lol...been there...done that...lol...was it though Tifton? Use to drive from Warner Robins down to Valdosta every weekend & the one place I stayed at the speedlimit was Tift county....

There's a spray out called "BUG WASH" (Bright green liquid) made by the Purple Power people that is the best thing I've found. Spray over the windshield and front of vehicle, let sit for a couple minutes and normal wash will take 99% of the "Love Bugs" off.
