who will win when it snows wrx again.

who can fit 4 people in their car wrx.

Like i said before, if it wasn't for the fact my wife can't drive standard, we have a baby, and the price of the wrx, i would be driving one today.
Funny I just caught this thread after seeing Car & Driver rate the Mitsu Evo (http://www.mitsubishicars.com/lancer...ion/index.html) above the STI. I actually liked the WRX, pity I can't fit into one without carnally knowing the steering column. :/

So after all this are we any closer to pics of the IC?

Nothing personal, but who's the idiot that's gonna race in the rain or snow? [:I]

OH yea, one more thing if we're gonna get ridiculous, who will be reading the license tag of the other car at 150...your right..WRX!

please tell me how a WRX is going to trap at 120+mph with minor mods.ill be sure to pass it on to my 2 friends with STi's,as im sure they would be dying to know too.the ONLY reason the STi will give the Viper a slight chance at losing is because of its AWD.and thats from a dead stop.its going to take quite a bit to get an STi into the low 12's,and its going to take a hell of a lot to get them to trap at 120+.in a car that heavy and boxy, its going to take atleast 500hp at the crank.my friend had a regular WRX only got his into the mid 12's with a 106 trap.the extra .5 liter will not alone get it to trap another 15+ mph faster.
and on the subject of LS1/6's and the stupid ass comment"theres a reason F bodies were discontinued",thats just plain ignorance.the LS series of motors are nothing to take lightly.go up against a heads/cam or a supercharged LS1 or god help you a LS6 Z06 and we'll see who sees whos rear license plate.and even better is the fact that i can go and buy a little used Z28 for 25k,throw 5k at it in mods, and totally blow your little STi away.at the autocross and at the strip.
no one here said the STi was a bad car in any way.i actually like them, but i would rather have an LS1 f body or a used C5 for the same if not LESS money.
oh and if you didnt get the point before, the STi is NOT the godly car everyone thinks it is.good yes,but all things holy no.
INEFFICIENT V8's OWN AND WILL ALWAYS OWN.

How about a 1979 CJ5 with a 355 small block, 13.5-1 arias, 0.1" milled from head, "186" double hump heads, with pro-flows, Hilborn "0" pump, Crower 2 7/16 mech injection spraying alky, spool in rear true-trac in front.[8)][8)] YES IT WAS ALOT OF FUN, but I could only get 3 100yard passes before the 16gallon fuel cell would be low enough to suck air, Back in the early 1990's alky with top end lube was $2 a gallon, OUCH!!!!!!
I have calmed down a bit now.
Will I roll up and challange a STI with my GT? [:I]Just for fun maybe,,,,
"for real" NO!!!!!!!

The mark-up on these cars is criminal. Some dealers in the greater Seattle area are asking 40K! [B)]

Anyone that pays that needs to have their head examined, but then to each his own, a friend of mine has one, I don't know what he paid, we are in the Baltimore - Washington corridore. It may be fast and all that, but the styleing doesn't do much for me.

Well I see we have a debate here. My PT makes 220+ HP and 280+WHP
TQ and I have NEVER been beet by a WRX from a roll. Now, from a stop it will pull me .5 to 1 car depending on the driver and mods. But by 2nd gear I am even and passing. Now on to the STI, Off a 40mph roll I took one to 100 with my 15 in drag radials. The driver was fair to avarage in terms of his shifting abilities. I on the other hand..[8)]
The STI and WRX are good cars, but I would not WASTE my money on a Scoby. Attention all Detroit WRX owners. Iam ready to put a hurtin and embarass you in front of your girlfriend and yo mama!!!!!!![8]

heh. I'll keep my trap shut as I've been playing with scoobies since we got the first 'sport' impreza back in '98 (being the RS. I even had the 'priveledge' of getting the DOHC 2.5 which was phased out in '99 for the SOHC setup.. Rally Blue Pearl of course). I went through the lengthy and COSTLY process of bringing in a Subaru STi Version 5 Ra drivetrain (straight from Japan - came out of a new one they put a BUILT 2.5L turbo engine into )back when the version 5 was *current* and the Version 6 was coming out shortly. (If that's not going back a bit, I don't know what is.. )
They're both great cars and both have their merits.. I for one am now in a PT cruiser turbo. NO it isn't as fast as my scooby was, or the new STi is, but I actually *enjoy* it more in different ways than the scoob, and the scoob I enjoyed more than the cruiser in different ways.
That said.. I can't wait until somebody ponys up to the plate and goes with a larger turbo/intercooler/injectors/figures out the ECU/etc. in a PT. Then it will be time for some FUN.
