Road and track numbers: wrx viper
0-60 4.87 4.1
1/4 mile 13.3@104.6 12.2@119.6
the trap speeds speak for themselves. See ya subaru. Even the 0-60 times arent worth trash talkin about with the all wheel drive. It would take more that a few minor mods to gain a second on the 1/4 mile. and yes those are sti numbers

I find it amazing that the comparrison allows all kinds of mods for the ricer, and assuming that any owner of a Viper wouldn't even swap out the air filters for K&N.

I have a better comparrison:

STI against a Viper that has no wheels, or a Viper towing a motorhome.
How about having Stevie Wonder drive the Viper against John Force in the Ricer?

just showing the numbers of a STOCK sti against a STOCK viper. orignaly all of this started buy one individual claiming that with a few "minor" mods that an sti would "eat" a viper. that comparison show that to be a bit of a stupid statement, no offence.

Yep... PTGT, that was me and i stand by my statement. I was NOT making a statement about 2 stock cars. I said that a moded WRX STi will beat a Viper. Of course these results may vary whether the Viper is an RT/10, GTS-R, ACR etc. as well as the year of the viper.

I inteded to make the statement that if you were to get and STi and use the difference in price between it and a Viper for motor mods; that the STi would beat the Viper. I have NO doubt that this is the case. There is also NO doubt that a STOCK Viper would beat a Stock STi; and that a modded Viper would beat a modded STi. The point is that for the same price as a Viper, you could get and build up an STi what WOULD beat the Viper.

IMO, "minor" mods constitue those mods that do not alter the specs of the Original block, THAT'S IT! If you are denying that an STi would beat a Viper with close to $50K in the motor, you are sadly dissolusioned. By claiming that the Viper would win, you are prooving yourselves to be no better than those STi owners who believe their stock STi will destroy anything on the road and is the god of all cars...

New Viper tops 500 hp and 500 lbs torque I rest my case! It will pounce on any stock or near stock Vette!

Who said you won't race in the "rain or snow"? A STi would easily walk away from a Viper in those conditions, why?...because 99.9% of Viper owners would never drive their cars unless the forecast calls for "clear and sunny". I would take a Viper over the STi andyday just for its sex-apeal. My 1993 GEO Metro beats most cars on the road in the snow because I consistently drive at 50 MPH...on the other hand when its dry and I'm driving at 60 (speed-limit is 55) they pass me like I'm standing still. Your talking about two different animals here, one you can drive in any weather condition, Off-road/on-road, at a high rate of speed. And one that spends the majority of its time in a garage (Viper) or being trailered somewhere (like my Corvette drag-car).
